Product information
Description
Tanto Zero is a genuine historical replica of a Japanese Tanto. A knife used by samurai, but also by ninjas. It was part of the samurai sword set, Daishō, where it was used together with a katana. There were also variants that women used for self-defense. These were hidden in the sleeve pockets of their kimonos. Tanto Zero is, like the original, made of rustic and beautiful cherry wood. The tanto's steel is of the D2 quality - a historically superior steel for knives. It is "rust-resistant" and has good protection against rust if the knife is cared for reasonably well. It is a very hard steel and stays sharp for a long time. To easily sharpen the knife, a diamond whetstone is recommended. The knife's blade is decorated with Japan's national emblem - a chrysanthemum flower.
