Municipality has the ultimate responsibility for providing information and support to residents, tourists and workers in the event of social disruption, and shall ensure that social services such as childcare, elderly care, schools and drinking water supply continue to function. If several municipalities are affected, county administrative board take overall responsibility and appoint a rescue leader. National authorities as MSB can assist with equipment and personnel for larger operations, while Swedish National Institute of Health is responsible for making weather forecasts and issuing warnings in case of storms. The police are responsible for rescue in the mountains and lakes, while energy company is working to restore the electricity supply and Telia is responsible for quickly restoring the telecommunications network.
