The great thing about growing and gardening is that there really are no right or wrong ways. You can do it in a lot of different ways and it will still turn out well. The worst that can happen is that it doesn't sprout, and then you can always sow again. With Grow Food, Hanna Hofman-Bang and Mimmi Staaf want to provide knowledge about and inspire you to dare to sow and grow your own vegetables and to see the garden as your own pantry.
In the book you follow Hanna and Mimmi during a season in Vackebol and at Lagnö Gård in Sörmland where they grow food for their own households. Read about how to sow and pre-cultivate, about the love of the soil and your best friend compost, about how to take care of your garden and get vegetables that want to grow big, about how to water wisely, squeeze cabbage caterpillars and scoop potatoes.
About the authors:
Hanna Hofman-Bang is a gardener and runs the company Ekobang. She designs, plans and creates gardens for others - and always sneaks in a few edible plants.
Mimmi Staaf has a career in interior design. Now she has found herself in the middle of the spinach in Sörmland and is in her fourth growing season with Hanna as her growing mentor.
Said about the book:
"Anyone who wants solid advice can benefit from reading 'Growing Food' by Hanna Hofman-Bang and Mimmi Staaf. - They each write their own diary from the growing year, and in this way highlight practice, theory and solid knowledge."
Lars Ring, Swedish Democratic Party
"This is a solid handbook that manages to convey a lot of knowledge without being too detailed. Growing Food is suitable for both beginners and those who have a crop they want to develop. - The authors' crops look heavenly, as do the vegetables they produce."
