Tourniquet NP-1 (detachable bandage)

Tourniquet (traumatic bandage) in a simple and reliable model, designed to quickly stop arterial/catastrophic bleeding from arms or legs when pressure bandages are not enough. An essential tool in emergency preparedness, first aid kit, car or hiking bag.

Limb hemorrhage is a major cause of death globally and the leading cause of preventable death on the battlefield. Death from blood loss can occur in as little as five minutes from a serious limb injury. The use of a tourniquet is well-established for stopping severe, life-threatening bleeding by applying pressure to the limb. This occludes the artery, stopping blood flow.

Use: Place 5-10 cm above the bleeding - never directly on a joint - and tighten until the bleeding stops. Document the time of application and seek medical attention as soon as possible. The tourniquet is only used in life-threatening bleeding.
